“You have to learn from the mistakes of others. You can’t possibly live long enough to make them all yourself.”
This quote, which I encountered on my journey of becoming and being a private pilot many years ago, has a lot of truth to it: Aviation has become the safest way of traveling in the world BECAUSE it has learned (to a certain degree) from past mistakes. However, those lessons learned, which could be transferred from the aviation industry to the personal lives of ordinary people, who have nothing to do with aviation, are sadly too often lost; also because the aviation industry does not take its responsibility to society as seriously as it should. In the following video, I explain the reasoning behind this accusation and also share from mistakes which I have made in my past; namely that I defined my identity and my self-worth through a reference point which is not stable and reliable.
The content of the above mentioned video can – and certainly will be – mislabeled as “hate speech” by some in our current day and age. In our current day and age in which factual discernment often times comes in second after feelings and personal preferences. I hope that the video below will help to clarify that from my part no hate is involved whatsoever. Quite the opposite: Self-sacrificial love, which I see perfectly exemplified in the life of Christ – was the motivation behind this video … and in general in all videos which I make.
